CasaInsight.com helps real estate agents and brokers, lenders, insurance agents, property managers, and team leads keep track of which past clients may be getting ready to sell, using renovation photos homeowners choose to share and public building-permit records. This page explains what we collect, why, who it passes through, and how to have it removed.
1. Who this applies to
Two kinds of people interact with CasaInsight.com: the professionals who use the service — real estate agents and brokers, lenders, insurance agents, property managers, and team leads (called “agents” on the rest of this page) — and the homeowners on their lists, who receive a link and may upload photos of their home. Homeowners never create an account, sign in, or see anyone else's information.
2. What we collect
From agents:
- Name, email address, and brokerage, agency, or company name
- Billing information, handled directly by Stripe (see Section 4) — we do not store card numbers ourselves
- The list of past clients an agent imports: names, addresses, and email addresses
From homeowners, only if they choose to open their link and participate:
- Name and email address, supplied by the agent when the client was imported, or by the homeowner directly
- Home address
- Any photos the homeowner uploads of renovation or improvement work, and any optional note they add
From anyone who contacts us through our contact page:
- Name and email address, and optionally a phone number and brokerage or company
- Your message or, for a call request, the days and times you say work for you
From public records, for every property an agent's client list includes:
- Building permit filings from public sources in the Sacramento region (Sacramento County, the City of Sacramento, Elk Grove, West Sacramento, Citrus Heights, and Yuba County (including Plumas Lake, Olivehurst, Linda, and Wheatland)), checked daily and matched to a client's address. This can include the type of work, a filed valuation, filing date, and the work description as recorded by the county — all of which is public information independent of CasaInsight.com.
3. How we use it
Uploaded photos and matched permit records are analyzed to estimate the type of work done, its likely quality, and an estimated range of value it added to the home. That estimate, along with the homeowner's photos and any note, is shown to the agent who imported that client, so they can decide whether to reach out. We also send the homeowner an automatic email summarizing what we estimated. We use a third-party home-value model (see Section 4) to estimate current home value and equity for the same purpose. We do not use this data to make decisions about anyone's creditworthiness, employment, insurance, or eligibility for anything, and we do not sell it.
Messages and call requests sent through our contact page are used only to reply to you and follow up on your request. They are emailed to our team inbox. We do not add you to a mailing list or sell your details.
4. Who this data passes through
We rely on a small number of service providers to run CasaInsight.com. Each only receives the data it needs to do its job:
- Supabase — hosts our database, file storage, and handles sign-in for agents.
- Anthropic (Claude) — analyzes uploaded photos and permit descriptions to estimate the type and quality of work done. Anthropic processes this data to return the analysis to us; it is not used to train Anthropic's models under our agreement with them.
- Resend — sends the emails CasaInsight.com generates: homeowner upload links, welcome emails, monthly home newsletters, homeowner report emails, agent alert emails, and messages sent through our contact page.
- Stripe — handles agent billing and subscription payments. Stripe receives payment details directly; we never see or store full card numbers.
- RentCast — provides automated home-value estimates for a property when requested.
- Vercel — hosts the application itself.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — a verification check on sign-up and our contact form that helps block automated bots. It may receive technical information from your browser, such as your IP address.
We do not sell data to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else, and we do not share it with any party beyond the ones listed above.
5. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we have a legitimate reason to. In practice, that means:
- Agent and client-list data is retained for as long as the agent's account is active, so that signal history remains accurate and useful. If a subscription lapses, this data is kept in case the agent resubscribes, but is no longer used to send emails or alerts while the account is inactive.
- Homeowner-uploaded photos and notes are retained for as long as the associated client record exists in an agent's account, since they support the estimate the agent continues to see. A homeowner may request removal at any time (see Section 6).
- Home-value estimates are cached for 90 days, then refreshed on next use, rather than kept indefinitely or updated on a fixed schedule.
When we no longer have a legitimate reason to retain a given piece of information, we delete it or retain it only in de-identified form.
6. Deletion and opt-out
Any homeowner can ask to have their information removed at any time, whether or not they ever uploaded photos. Removal deletes their identifying information (name, email, photos, and uploaded notes) while keeping an anonymized record that a signal existed at that address, so the underlying permit or photo signal data used for aggregate accuracy isn't lost. This process is currently handled manually by our team upon request — we're working toward a self-serve option.
To request deletion, or to ask any question about your data, contact us at privacy@casainsight.com.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to homeowner and client records is restricted so that an agent can only see their own clients' data, enforced at the database level, not just in the application.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of CasaInsight.com after a change means you accept the updated policy.
9. Third-Party Websites
CasaInsight.com may contain links to third-party websites, such as a county's permit-records portal. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices. Reviewing their policies before providing information is your responsibility.
10. Children's Information
CasaInsight.com is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@casainsight.com and we will remove it.
